About Us

We created Sun Adventure Tours with the idea other travellers would desire to experience authentic, personalized adventure tours with knowledgeable tour leaders and like minded travellers.

Our tour leaders are shareholders in the company and will ensure all guests will experience life changing adventure tours - they will remember for a lifetime!!

Our goal is to provide a relaxing atmosphere, with all the details of the trip itinerary worked out so our guests can experience all the joys the destinations have to offer. We take care of locating comfortable, safe, and clean accommodations, places to eat, and transportation to the various locations.

We are confident our guests will become repeat users of our travel service and experience the many destinations our company will offer in the future.

Sun Adventure Tours specializes in eco-tourism that is both sustainable and connects the travellers with personal experiences of the local culture. The guests will meet the local people, sample the food they eat, and learn all they desire about the destination they are visiting. Staying in small, locally owned venues.

Our tour leaders will bridge the gap between the travellers and the local community. Provide advice on the different opportunities available to experience at the destination and translate the language so our guests are aware and understand everything they are experiencing.

Group Size:

At Islands in the Sun Adventure Tours most trips you will be travelling with a minimum of 10 and the maximum of 26 like minded people from all around the world. Moving around in small groups allows for more personalized tours, flexible itinerary changes and the ability to blend into local communities with little fanfare.

Trips offered in 2010 - 2011:

Islands in the Sun Adventure Tours will offer guided tours to Jamaica W.I., Machu Picchu and Cuba Eco Tours, plus 2 times a year- 20 day excursions with 10 days in Jamaica and the next 10 days in Cuba.

In 2011-2012, Island in the Sun Adventure Tours will be adding several new guided tours to many of the spiritual energy centers in Puerto Rico, Grimes Point located near Lake Tahoe outside Reno, Nevada, Mt. Shasta, Grand Tetons, Arkansas, Lake Titicaca in Peru, and Roslyn that are primary Celestial Star Gates.

Sun Adventure Tours has three tour offices: Cusco, Peru, Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Charlottetown, P.E.I..

Associates:

The company is operated by Wayne MacKinnon from Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Wayne MacKinnon Wayne MacKinnon operated Jamaica Mystery Tours out of the three Sandal’s Resorts in Montego Bay, Jamaica for a number of years. He has lived in Jamaica for 18 years and operated numerous business entities in Jamaica requiring him to travel to all corners of Jamaica. Wayne knows Jamaica and her people like the back of his hand.

Wayne also takes more than 1400 visitors around Prince Edward Island yearly to experience the best kept secret in the world from June to until October. He is very knowledgeable about the Islands in the Sun he provides tours to. He strives to provide personalized, friendly, informative experiences with the goal of ensuring his guests are very pleased with their holidays. When they leave the destination they were visiting they are well aware of the happenings of the place.

Tour leaders:

All the trips offered by Islands in the Sun Adventure Tours to Jamaica are led by Wayne MacKinnon. The trips to Peru will be accompanied by Wayne MacKinnon, who has formed an association with his cousin Kenny MacDougall who has lived in Peru the past five years and is presently living in Cusco, Peru, our base in Peru.

We are proud of all our associates around the world, and rightly so! In Cusco we are especially fortunate to have two very capable people to take care of all your needs and to ensure that your trips become a memorable one.

After retiring in 2001 from the Government of British Columbia, Ken MacDougall has travelled and trekked extensively thru Europe,South East Asia and now South America.

Now living in Cusco, Peru; Ken serves as our Tour Coordinator and Interpreter in association with Agripino Monge Leon of Inka Planet Explorers, who has over 24 years experience in the tourism industry in Peru. Come with us as we visit the ancient Inka sites of Saysayhuaman, Pisac, Ollantaybambo, Lake Titikaka, Chocquequierao,and of course Machu Picchu.

When asked what our clients can expect, Ken told us: The Inka civilization ruled for 370 years, and today 450 years after their demise their legacy lives on. To see the ancient city Machu Picchu at sunrise is an unforgettable experience that everyone should see and experience at least once in their lifetime.
